Like Mark you are a role model for others in looking for the positive ways to live fully - and you are generous in reaching out to others... helpful reminders for me

Mark,

Thank you so much for sharing this. I understand your teachings, I have had a few close calls to the Big Guy upstairs and I think it has made me enjoy people, life and the world so much more. I always thought I did, but this is a true blessing. We look, feel and think much deeper than we ever did before. It is like putting your life on HIgh Definition rather than Analog.

Working closelywith people and connecting with others for the creative process is so important to me and brings such mutual satisfaction. I love this post!

Thanks Kare, as always, something uplifting to read,

Be safe, well and happy,

Hi Kare,

The most important thing I learned from Cancer is that if it cannot make you sick, take away your family or cause you emotional pain, then it is probably not important enough to worry about.

The other important thing is that it is really easy to forget what you learned unless you talk about it to others. I am reminded of my lessons each time I talk about them.

Some of the other things that I was taught by my gift is:

1. Life is beautiful.
2. The most beautiful things in life don’t cost anything.
3. Don’t fight the rhythm of life. Go with the flow.
4. People are basically good and kind. Sometimes they just having a bad day.
5. We are all creative in our own way.
6. Looking and seeing are two different things.
7. In every challenge, lies an opportunity.
8. Listening to your heart and your gut will keep you out of trouble.
9. Receiving is temporary, giving is forever.
10. Being confident is good, being humble is better.
11. Doing the right thing is easy. Your heart will tell you what the right thing is.
12. It is easier to be nice.
13. The more stuff you have that you do not use, the more stuff you have to manage.
14. Strive to see the good in others.
15. Be fast to thank others for what they do.
16. Let yourself feel emotion so deeply that it brings tears to your eyes.
17. Laugh, cry and love every day.
18. Take care of the body so that it can do the work of the soul.
19. Tell someone you love them or you cherish your relationship with them.

and last but not least:

20. Lord, give me the strength to live by the lessons I have been taught.

Have a wonderful day!

When I feel overwhelmed by circumstances, I revisit the lessons I learned when I was 26. At 26, I received a gift and that gift was cancer.

I call it a gift because it taught me life changing lessons at an appropriate time of my life. The lessons I learned were lessons that many people learn at the end of their lives.

That is why I call my cancer, the gift.

Have a wonderful day!
